Initial Registration For Overseas Nurses Course - Ticket For Nurses To Work And Migrate To Australia

The Australian Centre of Further Education has just been accredited by the Nursing Board of Victoria (NBV) to offer the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses (IRON) Program in Melbourne.

The Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses Course is open to nurses trained and registered overseas who want to practice in Australia. The Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses Course is required for the registration of some overseas trained nurses as Division 1 with the Nursing Board.

The course offered by Australian Centre of Further Education is a 12 week course, comprising 4 weeks of theory and 8 weeks of Clinical Placement in an acute medical/surgical setting in an approved hospital. The school is now accepting enrollments into the September 2010 course. Applicants may also apply for classes in January, May and September 2011.

Enrollment into the course requires that nurses have been approved by the Nurses Board of Victoria to undertake such a course and have been issued with an approval letter. Please note that the NBV letter is valid for two years, so be sure to enroll into this course before this expires. Additionally, applicants must have a valid IELTS certificate with a score of 7.0 in each of the IELTS modules (OET B may also be accepted). For full selection criteria, please visit:www.acfe.net.au/courses/nursing

Nurses successfully completing this course will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria (NBV). Typically this takes about 2 weeks for registration to be issued by the nursing board. With the registration granted the nurse is able to apply for positions in the healthcare sector as Division 1 Registered Nurses. Positions range from jobs in public and private hospitals or in Aged Care facilities. The salary for nurses is very attractive for overseas nurses even at base level. There are many opportunities to earn more than the base with overtime and penalty loading.
