Summer Makeup: The Wonders Of Flawless Matte Finishing Powder

How do you keep your foundation perfect and flawless during the hot summer? Even in a climate where it rains?

In typical British summertime style, the warmer weather seems to come and go more often than the tide. Right now the suns out, its red hot and were all loving it (until of course it comes to trying to sleep, and then its a different story!), yet tomorrow itll probably be raining. Ah dont we just love the British weather!

So whilst its hot what should we do about makeup? Its a nightmare watching foundation slowly slide down our face after every application. A great base is the best start to a long summer day. Cleanse, tone and moisturise (as usual let all the moisture soak into your skin before you start applying) and before you reach for the foundation apply a layer of Flawless Matte powder.

Lily Lolo Flawless Matte contains kaolin, a soft, earthy clay mineral which has oil absorbing properties, making it perfect for creating a matte base with maximum staying power. Named after a hill in China where the mineral was very first mined, kaolin is naturally found as a white powdery rock and only has to go through minimal processes to be used in natural mineral cosmetics.

Lily Lolo Flawless Matte also makes a great base for eyeshadow, the powder works in the same way as a primer would creating a non oily base for the loose pigment it gives eyeshadow extra staying power, prevents creasing and enables more vibrant colour.

Other Summer Makeup Tips

A beautiful summer look features soft bronzers whilst remaining fresh faced with healthy rosy cheeks. Its the perfect makeup for a day out match with softly tousled hair, or beachy braids for the complete summer look.

Start by applying the Lily Lolo Flawless Matte base to ensure maximum performance on a summers day. Then apply your foundation and concealer as normal.

Wash a base of mineral eyeshadow, such as Sticky Toffee across the lid with a Pure Sable Brush, and then use a Golden Pink mineral eyeshadow to create depth in the outer corners and sockets. Buff the two colours together with a Blending Brush. For added intensity mix the eyeshadows with water you can them use them like a paint.

For the eye line, use an Eyeliner Brush wet with the Sticky Toffee for a bright eyed effect. For a heaver evening look, the black and brown eyeliner pencils are perfect, and can be used on the inner and outer lids.

A complementary pink blush and pink lipgloss finish the look, and create that rosy cheeked glow which is lovely in summer; weve used Bubblegum Pink and Rosy Apple.

And lastly, a light dusting of Waikiki bronzer creates a softly sun-kissed glow.
