Breast Enlargement For Teenagers

Breast enlargement is a purely aesthetic form of plastic surgery that is almost always undertaken by women. Many teenagers like to have more noticeable bosoms especially when they perceive themselves as having flat chests. The question of how appropriate this operation is for a teenager has been debated not only by the teens themselves but also by their parents and some relatives.

Advantages

Breast enlargement has the capacity to boost an individual's confidence and self esteem. This is one of the main reasons why some parents agree with their children when it comes to this operation. Many parents cringe to see their child being bullied or ostracized for being different. In this day and age, looking good has become a staple to being accepted by peers. Many teenage girls feel the need to be fuller in the chest than what they have at the moment because development usually does not come at the same time. Parents would prefer to see their child happy and accepted than see them having a difficult time in school. Another advantage to this procedure is saving the child from potential psychiatric problems and issues that may stem from being bullied and ridiculed. Parents like to have their children grow up with one less thing to worry about and teenage girls also like to fit in with their peers.

Disadvantages

There are several disadvantages to having breast enlargement operations done on teenage girls. One of these is the reinforcement of the concept of a quick fix. Deliberately going out and making such a huge decision to alter what is still under development can instill unfavorable values in the child. She might think that it is this easy to take short cuts to get what she wants in life. Another disadvantage is lack of patience in waiting for the development of the child to reach its full potential. Teenagers are still developing and bosoms may be the first or the last to develop. It may be best to see how things go before preempting the development of teenagers' breasts. She may be too young to undergo such a huge alteration that is usually reserved for older individuals.

The decision to have breast enlargement surgery for teenage girls is basically up to the girl and her parents. Doctors do have the right to decline performing the operation due to a difference of opinion with the other party. Other doctors may opt to perform the operation but there are a lot of factors that can restrict it.
