subject: What Is The Best Abdominal Workout For Belly Fat Loss? [print this page]

The answer to the ageless question of "Just what is the best ab exercise for losing belly fat?" is...

Nothing! Ab workouts on their own do not produce enough of a metabolic response in your body to generate fat loss.

I frequently get asked what the best kinds of exercises and workouts are for losing stubborn stomach fat in order to bring out visible 6 pack ab muscles. The issue is that most individuals with excessive belly fat looking to try to reveal their abdominal muscles are looking for some "miraculous abdominal routine" which is going to reduce the fat off their belly in no time.

The thing is... they are going about the issue completely the wrong way! The reality is that you do not lose abdominal fat by doing abdominal exercises.

The problem is that focusing most of your time and effort on stomach exercises and abs routines to try to flatten your tummy and bring out six pack abs is simply wasting your time from performing the right exercise programs that will actually cut down your body fat for good.

If I were to select an answer as to what the best exercises are for losing stomach fat, my response would include full body exercises such as the following:

various types of squats, lunges, dead lifts, pulls & presses, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc.

The way you mix those complete body exercises into a strategic work out that maximizes your metabolism is also extremely crucial.

Don't get me wrong... I typically suggest a specific amount of activities which directly target the abs and core, however, your time is better used focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the most effective hormonal & metabolic changes in the body. In addition, a side effect of working out using mostly full body multi joint combination exercises are that you indirectly work your whole midsection even though you aren't specifically targeting the ab muscles.

Keep in mind that the most significant factor for losing tummy fat to see your ab muscles is really in the nutrition arena. No matter how hard you exercise, if your diet is full of unhealthy food, then your abdominals will be covered with ugly fat. Diet is without a question the "king of getting a six pack".

So let us clear this up for good...

Stop throwing away so much of your time concentrating on sit ups, crunches, leg raises, and all those silly worthless "ab gadgets" in your attempts to try to develop six pack abs. Instead concentrate on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all tactically mixed into highly effective fat reduction workouts. Couple that along with a healthy diet full of all-natural non processed whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those incredibly elusive six-pack abs will be yours in absolutely no time!
