Treat Wedding Travelers To Something Special

You give all your guests wedding favors. You may have even gone that extra mile and decided on unique wedding favors specifically for unique guests. There is still something you have to give though that you may not have planned on. Some of your guests will have put their lives on hold and traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles to spend time with you on your big day. This requires a lot of sacrifices and out of pocket costs on their part. Make their trip well worth it by treating them to something special. Here is how.

This is your town and you know the good places to stay and eat. If left up to your guests, they could inadvertently find themselves holed up in a poor hotel or at least in a bad part of town. Contact the local hotels and set up a block of rooms so that all of your guests can stay close to each other. You can negotiate a great rate for them and find a hotel that is close to great restaurants or has plenty to do nearby. This is a great way of saying thank you for your support.

Send your guests something special and either have it delivered or waiting for them when they arrive. This could be anything from a fruit basket and wine to a coupon booklet to the local attractions and your favorite restaurants. If you have the money in your budget, set them up with a stocked mini-bar or have champagne sent to their room after they have had a chance to settle in. Chocolates and treats are another great option as well as tickets to the local theatre. Most of these wonderful surprises can be set up through the concierge. One more thing that you can do if your hotel offers it is to have their rooms upgraded for them so that when they arrive expecting a standard room they find they have access to the hotels key clubs and special amenities. What a special way to say thank you!

Schedule a pre wedding breakfast or lunch with your early arrivals so that they do not feel the pinch. Many of your guests will be stretching the dollar so that you will not suspect that they have sacrificed to see you get married. Meeting with them and treating them to a great breakfast or lunch tells them that you are willing to take the time out of your wedding planning schedule to be with them and show them a little love.

More important than a pre-wedding meal is a post wedding brunch or supper. Unless you are leaving for your honeymoon from the chapel, which fewer couples do these days, choose a great restaurant and meet with them to share your experience first hand. I guarantee you will have plenty to talk about. It is also polite to arrange for transportation to your wedding and reception to and from the hotel and to and from your get together meals.

The most important thing you can do for these special guests that have traveled to be with you is to enjoy your time with them. Let them know how much you love and appreciate them and how much their sacrifice means to you and your new spouse. Having family and friends is the most important thing in life so make the most of it.
