Fans of the New York Jets in the National Football League has 101 reasons to smile these days. This developed after the Jets franchise was able to successfully signed to a six-year, $60 million extension offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Based on the new deal Ferguson who was the team's fourth draft pick in 2006 will play for the Jets until 2017. The Jets decided to reward Ferguron with a huge contract due to his great performance the past NFL season.

Now that Ferguson, 26 had been locked-up to a long-term contract the Jets is expected to have a benner NFL season for many years to come. With the signing of Ferguson, the team is now focusing its efforts to re-sign cornerback Darrelle Revis, center Nick Mangold and linebacker David Harris. The Jets is doing its best to sign Revis since he had a great defensive year the past NFL season. Aside from the Ferguson deal, the Jets also signed to a four-year $3.25 million contract deal with their second-round pick, guard Vladimir Ducasse that also includes $1.25 million signing bonus.

Ducasse, the 61st overall pick, is competing with Matt Slauson for the starting left guard spot. Alan Faneca had started there the past two seasons, but was cut after the Jets drafted Ducasse. Three of the Jets' four draft picks have signed, with only first-rounder Kyle Wilson not under contract.
