subject: Chemical Treatments: The Fastest And Easiest Way To Deal With Pool Cleaning [print this page]

Bacteria are most likely the immediate cause why your pool will turn into unviable recreational areas. Usually the cause of bacteria build-up is the irresponsibility of the pool owner to have proper maintenance in their pool.

There are a lot of pool cleaning options available in the market. One of the most popular ones is the use of chemical based agents in cleaning in the pool. Chlorine based cleaning agents are amongst the ones mostly used by pool owners. They are proven effective to wear off germs from your pool waters. Below are two pool cleaning mechanisms that make use of chlorine:

1.Swimming Pool Shock

By over saturating your pool with chlorine, germs and other harmful bacteria will be destroyed. This routine maintenance is recommended to be performed at least once a week to ensure comprehensiveness and effectiveness in cleaning. However, this should be done more often during rainy seasons or when the pool has been used heavily.

2.Algaecides

Because swimming pools have water, it is likely that it becomes a target to algae attacks, especially when the water in it stays unchanged for some time. When algae have inhabited your favourite recreational area, it will turn it into a slimy, slipper place with lots of green stuff afloat. Algaecides are the best solution to this problem. It will kill almost any type of algae inhabiting your pool. There are three types of algae that usually infest pool waters: The green, black and mustard algae. The green are obviously the green coloured ones that float in the center and the side-skirt of your pool. They are slimy characteristics and are the types that you dominantly see. Black algae on the other hand are ironically not coloured black. They are blue pigments that float along with the green algae but much smaller than the former. Mustard algae look like dirt and are often mistaken as one.

All of the chemical treatments mentioned above make use of chlorine to chemically treat your pool. It skyrockets the level of chlorine content in your pool to shock microorganisms infesting in it like algae and other bacteria. While they are effective in maintaining the well-being of your pool, it should be noted that they are chemically based and that they might pose certain health hazards to anyone. Safety precautions should always be prioritized when using them.
