The first thing to do is to decide what your needs are. Do you want payroll only? Do you need a company that also does Workman's comp? Do you want a company that offers a time card that you can enter the times daily?

Most companies have a monthly fee. What they do for that monthly fee is listed. The fee will vary according to your needs. If you want to do your own Workman's comp that will save you a few dollars a month.

Once you decide which company you will use. Sign up and answer the questions they ask you. Be sure to answer correctly as this will determine the monthly fee.

Next pick your log-in information and get started. The bank account you plan to use will need to be entered. Next enter your employee information. You will need names, addresses, social security numbers and wages and forms for them to fill out.

After you get all the information entered, the people you owe money to (vendors) will have to be added. The chart of accounts will need to be set up. This all sounds like a lot of work and it will take some time to do it. Once it is set up it will be easy and check writing will be done quickly and efficiently.

The program will show you the employees names. Just put in the hours worked for the week. When you set up this part of the program, you can tell them if you want weekly, bi weekly or monthly paychecks.Just put in the hours, the program will calculate the amounts to be deducted and give you the totals. Just put in your blank on line ordered checks and hit print with pay stub, in a moment you will have your paycheck with the pay stub and all the needed information printed on the check stub.
