Amongst the tourist attractions is the Popeye village. This gained popularity after the film Popeye was filmed here. St.Paul was shipwrecked in an island city now known as the St.Paul Island.

This island nation has 7000 long years of history that makes it rich with a variety of historical places and artifacts. Valletta is the capital of Malta and is home to unique collection of historic artifacts in its Museum Of Archaeology. This city is also famous for its regular plays, concerts, street shows and variety of exhibitions. St.elmo another fort houses a beautiful war museum. A military parade on Sunday in proper costumes is a major tourist fascination. Co cathedral of st.john and grand master palace are additional tourist spots.

World's oldest temple, a freestanding one, Ggantija is a splendid megalithic creation that still deserves a visit. World's largest canon in fort Rinella also attracts foreigners. Maritime and armory museums situated in vittoriosa are a must watch. The islands of Malta if visited during the festival season depict a wide array of information about its local life. The villages are charming in all respects with their rich culture of folklore. Malta has not less than 365 mind-blowing churches.the Mosta church has a large dome thought to be the 3rd largest European dome.

Sports are also a major factor in boosting Malta tourism. Scuba diving is one of them. Being in an island and not playing in water would certainly be a waste. Other water adventures, which are a must for tourists, are the swimming experience in the blue lagoon, yachting and par kiting. The last activity gives a vivid view of the island from above and is sure to leave a lasting impression in the mind of a visitor. The sandy beaches of the island are some of the most peaceful tourist places. For art lovers Malta has a lot to offer. National museum of fine art has a beautiful collection of art. Antique collection in palazzo Falzon is also worth mentioning.st john's cavalier art centre has a variety of contemporary art. The roman villa in Rabat is also a spectacular site.
