When Exactly Is The Best Time To Get Pregnant

Every month there is only a small chance of getting pregnant. That is if you have intercourse or get inseminated during ovulation period. Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the ovaries into the fallopian tube. This egg is now ready to be fertilized. The key is knowing when this occurs, to be able to get pregnant. Here are simple ways to determine when is the best time to get pregnant, or know when you are ovulating.

First most used method is by keeping track of your menstrual cycle. A cycle usually consist 29 days, some has 1 day less or one more. Day one of the cycle is the day you get your period. Ovulation is usually around the 14th day of the cycle. That means the day you get your period, count 14 days on your calendar and that is when you are most fertile. This is not always the most easiest technique as some people have irregular menstrual cycles.

Another method to use is checking your basal temperature. This should be checked every morning before you get out of bed with a basal thermometer. During the first part of the menstrual cycle, a woman's body temperature will be lower and then higher during ovulation. The rise will be anywhere from 0.4-0.8 F. If you track these temperatures, you will be able to detect when your body temperature rises, indicating you are ovulating.

Checking your cervical mucus can also help. After your period, you will have no mucus, or feel dry. Then right before ovulation you will see it change to clear and slippery. This is known as the 'egg white' phase.

You can also look for the position of your cervix. It is important to check as soon as you end your period and should be checking daily, and should be done exactly the same time each day. In the first phase, or during menstrual cycle, the cervix will be in low position. During ovulation, your cervix will rise, and will be unreachable with your fingers.

These are some methods to use when checking for your ovulation time or your fertilization period. They usually work better, after checking these and keeping track for a month or two, before trying to get pregnant. You can use one or use combination of all four methods.

Its important to keep track of your basal temperature, your cervix mucus, your cervix position and also when your period began. When you keep track of these things, it will be easier for you to know when you are ovulation. When you are ovulating then you know when is the best time to get pregnant - during that time.
