Is There Any Possible Way Of Getting Pregnant During Period?

Any woman may have a chance of getting pregnant during period. Pregnancy occurs when female ovaries release an egg. This egg merges with a male sperm in the process of having sex. This merging causes fertilization to take place and an embryo starts to form inside the womb.

To become pregnant she has to be ovulating meaning she is in her fertile period. The ovulation period is determined by the menstrual cycle. Menstruation is when the lining of the uterus wall is shed off if there is no fertilization in readiness for the next ovulation. It comes out as blood via the vagina.

Ovulation happens about two weeks from the 1st day of onset of period. This mainly is for a woman who has a cycle of 28 days. The duration of the monthly cycle is the total days from when the period begins to a day prior to the beginning of the following period.

The time of ovulating may however vary. It can come between the tenth day to the nineteenth day after the beginning of period. Some women have a menstrual cycle of twenty one days while others have thirty five days or even more. It is difficult to calculate accurately the monthly cycle of such women some times.

Becoming pregnant during periods is possible. Ovulation time is counted basing it on a menstrual cycle of twenty eight days. The assumption is that the woman will ovulate after fourteen days. This kind of cycle is however found in less than seventy percent of women. Those who happen to have such reliable cycles experience some changes once in a while.

For women with a cycle of 21 or 35 days, ovulation may occur much earlier or much later than expected. As a result, there is no accurate method of calculating the exact ovulation date. So, a woman may think that she is safe, yet she is not.

Furthermore, the fertile period lasts for approximately a week each month. Sperms can survive for about a week after sex and the egg can survive for twenty four hours or even more. This means that one can get pregnant as sperms could still be surviving by the time the ovum is released

The length of the menstrual flow is usually 3 to 7 days. Some women menstruate for longer periods and this eats into their safe days. If such women have sex while they are menstruating, there are chances of getting pregnant.

There is a chance of getting pregnant during period for any woman who practices unprotected sex. It is not possible for her to be 100% certain of her infertile or fertile days. This is due to the fact that her ovulation period varies time after time.
