During whale season (July to November), the cliffs of Walker Bay offer the some of the best land based whale watching in the world. The huge Southern Right Whales come here to calve, court and play in the breakers just a few metres off the shore. For those wanting to get a little closer there are boat trips which often include sightings of large sea bird colonies and Cape fur seals.
Grootbos is all about lung fulls of fresh air and nature running wild, with a sophisticated slant added to the accommodation. Grootbos is the place of lazy picnics on empty beaches and wandering lazily amongst wild flowers with the sun on your back.
