Side Effects of the Birth Control Pill Yaz Revealed:

Yaz is a relatively new oral birth control pill that prevents release of an egg from the ovary (ovulation) and alters the lining of the uterus. Altering the uterine lining inhibits the egg from attaching to the uterine wall in case an egg is released and makes it more difficult for the sperm to swim up into the uterus, so it cant get to the egg if one is there. Yaz contains two hormones known as drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol and is reputed to be 99% effective in preventing pregnancy when taken properly. This birth control pill also treats PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) that involves serious emotional and physical disturbances some women experience that can make it difficult for them to function properly. PMDD symptoms include mood swings, irritability, depression, anger, anxiety, bloating, severe body aches and pains, changes in appetite, and headaches. Yaz has also been prescribed to teenagers 14 years and up for treatment of moderate forms of acne.

Reports of Yaz side effects including heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis (serious clotting that occurs in the legs), pulmonary embolism, sudden death, gallbladder disease, and general clotting throughout the body are mounting. These symptoms have produced fatal situations in some women and chronic disease in others.

Yaz Side Effects Spur Lawsuits:

A number of women have come forward and are filing Yaz lawsuits for blood clots, strokes, or heart attacks they have experienced that they believe are related to their Yaz usage. Plantiffs claim that Bayer (formerly Berlex Labs) was negligent in a number of ways, including its failure to conduct proper clinical trials, and collect post-marketing information that is so important to determining safety issues. Plaintiffs also claim that Bayer marketed Yaz as being safe for prevention of pregnancy when in fact this manufacturer should have warned patients and physicians about the serious Yaz side effects associated with this birth control pill, and in particular those side effects that are life-threatening.

If you have experienced a stroke, heart attack, blood clots, or any other Yaz side effects, you may be entitled to financial compensation. Yaz lawsuits are currently being filed across the country.
