Different Types Of Kids Loft Beds

Kids loft beds are a versatile piece of furniture and are a great way to utilize a small amount of space. There are hundreds of varieties to choose from, so even the pickiest tastes can be catered too. No matter what age your child is, there is sure to be a style that will suit them and grow with them over the years.

Children as young as three or four years old will enjoy a frame that caters to their creativity. There are many different types that resemble playhouses such as castles or tree huts. The child can play all day long in their new secret home and settle in at night to sleep safely tucked away inside the "walls" of their fortress.

Some have a playground theme such as a slide that extends from the top bunk to the floor. Others have tunnels and other playground features. These are great for saving space by providing a play area and sleeping area all in one.

There are a lot of choices for children that are too old for clubhouses and playgrounds. Some come with a lower bunk that comes in handy when friends want to stay over. Some can hold a twin size mattress on top and either another twin below or a full sized. The bottom bunk can also be a futon which can be used in the upright seated position or laid back for a full size mattress.

Built in bookshelves are great for school aged children as well. Trundle drawers underneath the frame are excellent for storing toys and clothing. Bunks are also a great way to save space for the children who share a room with siblings.

Older children, even college aged, will enjoy the versatile features these types of beds as well. By having two bunks, a built in desk, built in shelving, and even built in closets, they will be able to enjoy their room without feeling crowded by too much furniture. Some even have room for a mini refrigerator.

No matter what age your children are, kids loft beds are so versatile that they are bound to benefit from them. Aside from being an excellent space saver, they are often a piece of furniture that will last through each stage the child goes through. From the most basic type to the more intricate and feature filled, there is a variety that will appeal to a three year old just as well as a seventeen year old.
