Many claim they function and work nicely in a very high-stress office situation. Be honest, what percentage of us can definitely say that we can? 1. Design your workspace so that it is appealing to you.

What feeling do you get when walking to typical corporate office that looks sterile? For me it does not even suggest that individuals work there. When I see a cluttered work station, it makes me think that the person working there is stress, overwhelmed, and too lazy to get organized. I do my best to straighten up my office before and after I work. I find it difficult to concentrate when there is unnecessary clutter on my desk. Just keep a few items on your desk and file or store most will in drawers, shelves, or cabinets.

3. Decorate with plants.

Plants are wonderful dcor to any workplace. Plants provide health advantages as well because of oxygen they produce. Watering your plants regularly is important to keep them in healthy condition. How your plants look says a lot about your career: Healthy plants - healthy career, dying plants - dead career, fake plants - appears successful but empty inside and lots of plants mean prosperity.

4. Make it smell good.

Imagine walking into a workplace that is odorous. My two dogs are my constant companion when I am working so I am careful about dog smells. Although they are well groomed. I read that particular fragrances have a direct affect ones productivity. Lemon and lavender produced the most significant positive results.

5. Play relaxing music especially music by Mozart

Experiment with a variety of music to see what effect they have on your stress level and productivity. Use headphones but make sure you control the volume - if you need to keep from disturbing others.

6. Buy a decent chair.

Buy a good office chair that allows your body to relax while working. That means a chair designed ergonomically so that your spine is straight and allows you to sit for hours without feeling any pain or discomfort. There is an variety of style and design for office chairs.

7. Add a portable fan.

Even with good air conditioning, you might have periods where you just want to feel a tad cooler, or maybe you would like a bit of air circulation. Use a small portable fan to keep your comfort level right where you want it to be.

9. Personalize office.

Your office is your own living space for much of the time that you are working, so make your office an extension of your own personality. A good way to accomplish this is by adding items such as photographs or certificates on the wall. Do not limit yourself to just photos; you can also add memorabilia to personalize your space.
