Blog - Why You Should Get One

One man's blog can be immensely enjoyable, and can also earn him money. And yet you might be asking "A blog? But wouldn't a website be even better? Which should I choose?" To answer let's compare the features you can expect from each.

1. Price tag

A decent looking website is not free. But even in the unlikely event you could talk someone into giving you a free site design - and that's not likely - it still has to be hosted at a cost of $10 - $20 minimum per year. But you can get a blog (including hosting) for nothing.

2. Setting up

Creating a website is difficult if not impossible for those who lack the necessary skills; and even with some technical skills, completion of the task can be very time consuming. A blog however, can be created quickly and easily. The procedure is a matter of filling in some information; and it's designed to be easily achievable by just about anyone. One man's blog can be set up in less than 30 minutes, by a person who has minimal knowledge of the Internet and yet be as qualitative as an above-average website.

A quality website can take anywhere from one week to one month to design and host. But it only takes a half hour or less to set up a Blog!

3. Making money

A website may be a good way to generate some spending money as a stage for selling various services or products. A blog can do so too, and in the same measures provided measures are taken to market it. Any one man's blog will do just as well as a similar website.

4. Aesthetics

Animation, audio and video are some of the techniques that can be used on a website. Your blog spot by comparison, may not be able to include all the high-tech stuff, though it has enough to put up a good show. So one man's blog may be less good looking, but never less effective.

5. Maintaining and marketing

A blog can be constantly updated from day to day. That being the case it's clear why blogging can be more effective at generating Web traffic compared to a website, assuming the same effort is put into each. It's easier to add comments, news, and articles.

So in a way, a blog performs its own self- promotion, as every time there is an entry it is re-indexed by the search engines. By comparison promotion of a website demands a greater investment in time to produce traffic.

Even for those who already have websites blogging is a great addition. It's not at all unusual to find a website supported by blogs which are constructed and directed specifically to draw in traffic to the mother website.

Blogging can also be very enjoyable since you can share your pictures and experience without spending a dime. Many people who initially began with a website after a time moved to blogging since it's uncomplicated, can be done at no cost, and gives you the opportunity to upgrade it continuously.

The question therefore should not be "What reason is there to have a blog?" but "Why not have a blog?" The benefits being so numerous there's just no reason not to take advantage of blogging.?
