Sometimes, an infant will even cease breathing for 10 seconds or so. This occurrence is perfectly normal and termed as 'periodic breathing'.
Seeing the umbilical cord after it is cut might be also terrifying. This is not to be worried too much because this will eventually heal. Just avoid touching it with your bare hands to prevent from causing infection.
