Use This - Have More Spare Time For You Personally

Too much to do and too little time to do it is becoming a cultural norm. Even when we do manage to have a few minutes when our "gadgets" aren't alerting us to an incoming call or text, there is always the question of how to get all our errands done and still figure out what's for dinner.

In a way, the downward turn in the economy has forced many of us to re-evaluate our lives. We think about what we need and what we want and the cost for both. Surprisingly, there is a growing understanding that the "cost" of being instantly connected to the entire world and all of its demands is robbing us of the one thing we can never make; time.

You are not alone in wanting more time to do the things that are important to you. Many people say that they would like more time to figure out what they want to do or to do nothing at all. Sound familiar? If you want to find more time you are going to have to make some changes and stick to them but it does not have to be painful or feel like a sacrifice.

The steps outlined below will get you started. Once you start you will instantly breath easier knowing you are taking control of the one commodity that cannot be renewed...your time!

Say "no" to any extra commitments that you can for a two week period. Lie if you have to. This is practicing getting comfortable with saying no. Often you will automatically say yes to something for fear of hurting another and then spend time arguing with yourself about why you agreed in the first place!

Turn off your cell and resist the temptation to check your inbox after a certain hour each day. The world will be able to manage without you for awhile.

Plan your errands. For example; on the way to work you fill up the car, at lunch you drop off the dry cleaning and get the oil changed and on the way home you return any phone calls (be sure to let the person you are talking to know you have to keep it short).

Go grocery shopping once a month. No way you say, oh yes you can! Planning ahead and filling the fridge, pantry and freezer will save you time in more ways than one. A tip is to go when the store is least busy.

Create a calendar. If you let important dates sneak up on you this is automatically going to cost you time. Knowing what you have already committed to keeps you from over scheduling your self.

From these simple examples you will be able to find at least an extra hour a day and possibly much more on your weekend. What you do with your extra time is up to you! For some it will be time to start reading again, for others it will be learning a new hobby or rekindling an old one. In every case, you have taken control of your time and that is always a good feeling.
