Like adults, children are generally more likely to work if money is offered as a reward. Of course, younger children need simpler tasks, while older children and teens can develop some marketable skills while earning their own pocket money. Not only will these activities keep them busy this summer, but they will learn valuable skills and earn some of their own spending money.

All of your children's hard work and responsible behavior should certainly be rewarded. Summer is a great time to put family first and take special outings together. Think back on your own childhood and trips to a zoo, circus, or amusement park. There are many parks offering family rides such as bumper boats and spinning teacups that can have you all laughing together, glad to be sharing time as a family. Family fun rides and activities can also include go-cart races, rock climbing walls, or a ride on a miniature train! If the heat becomes too much, head indoors for arcade games, video games, or an exciting game of laser tag!
