Places You Will Want to Visit

Poble Espanyol is an architectural project consisting of 116 buildings of different styles, representing the regions of Spain. This village has a big square called Plaza Mayor; where you can also find the town halls building, a monastery, shops and residential buildings. The main attractions in Poble Espanyol are arts and local traditional crafts as well as the few bars and restaurants.

The National Park of Timanfaya stands on once active volcanic land and it is a very unusual, Martian looking territory. After you arrive, you will witness just how hot this area can get, you will be informed that the temperatures a few meters below can reach up to 6000. Dry bush thrown into certain holes poked into the earth will catch fire immediately and if you decide to cool things down with water, you will see it erupt as steam a few seconds later, just like a mini geyser. You can also eat here at a restaurant called El Diablo in which food is cooked in a cast iron grill using the geo-thermal heat. The place is open until 3:00 p.m.

The Guel Park is one of Gaudis unfinished art pieces, though regardless of this, it was still chosen by UNESCO in 1984 as being part of its patrimony. Gaudi worked here between 1900 and 1914 and from 1906 till his passing away; he lived in the house built by Berenguer, one of the collaborators of his project.

One of the most ambitious urban plans in Barcelona at the end of the XIX century was the idea of Eusebi Gell. He wanted to build an urban area inspired by the English concept of a town-garden. So in 1899, he purchased a rural area totaling 15 hectares called Can Parc Gel and,decided to transform it into a luxurious residential area. Today it stands as one of the top places you can visit in Spain and it is sure to leave you in awe.
