What Is Special In Space Travel Watches?

Watches are encountered very often as an accessory of the modern person. Everybody wears them, from school children and teenagers to employees or managers. Time is valuable in our days, people are in a continuous rush and nobody affords to waste time. You need to arrive in time to catch the bus, to finish assignments in time, to get to classes in time. Human lives are planned according to strict schedules.

The fact that watches are stressful makes some people avoid taking them when they leave on holidays. There are different watches meant for various people. Ladies watches have a jewel-like design, they are made of precious materials and adorned with gems. For a few special jobs, special watches are necessary. For example scuba divers need watches able to work well under the pressure of water and which are waterproof.

In space missions astronauts also need watches who pass different tests of endurance. A space watch is made of special materials and can be used for more than just showing the time. Chronograph is an important part of a space watch. Astronauts from different countries use those watches which they consider to be most suitable for their missions. The Russians, the Chinese and the Americans are faithful to their favorite brands. There is a new company on the list of space watch manufacturer.

They have designed a special watch for a private space exploration. This watch is interesting because it needed to adjust both to the conditions of space travel as well as to spacewalk on the outside of the ship. Mechanical watches were mostly preferred in space missions, because electronic equipment could be damaged by radiations. Instead of being mechanical, the watch is moving due to a spring drive.

Time is not perceived in the same way on Earth and in space. For those who are in the space the distinction between a.m. and p.m. is not very relevant. Some space watches have 24 hour dial to help astronauts have an accurate idea of the time. Space watches also need to resist rapid changes in temperature varying from very high temperatures to very low ones, the pressure, the radiations are some factors known to make normal watches work badly.
