subject: The Key To Enhancing The Effectiveness Of Any Panic Anxiety Disorder Treatment [print this page]

Combining an appropriate diet with physical activity or exercise definitely benefits your mental health. Exercise burns up stress chemicals or neurotransmitters that trigger your brain to go into panic or anxiety mode and promotes relaxation. Thus, moderate and consistent physical activity alleviates anxiety and strengthens the effectiveness of any panic anxiety disorder treatment you could be on.

As part of your anxiety treatment, you must exercise daily for at least 30 minutes. This does not mean you have to be at the gym everyday. We all lead busy lives. Therefore, wherever you are or whatever you are doing, try and create opportunities for physical activity. For example, if you drive to work everyday, why not park your car some distance away from the office or workplace so you can walk the rest of the journey to work. If your offices are in a multi-storey building, why not use the stairs instead of the lift? Using public transport instead of your car, creates opportunities for you to walk. Mowing and maintaining your lawns at home rather than hiring a gardening service provides you with a chance to exercise.

In fact with reference to walking, researchers encourage people to aim for 10000 steps a day. You can actually wear a pedometer to help you monitor the steps you walk daily.

Also in order to stay fit, some people prefer jobs that keep them on their feet over those that are sedentary.

Further, remember, moderate daily exercise will benefit you more than intense but infrequent exercise. Therefore strive for daily exercise rather than exercising week-ends only or in spurts of strenuous activity.

The amount of exercise you do must be in line with your physical circumstances and health. Overexerting yourself during exercise can be outright dangerous.

Also, when you combine regular physical exercise with a good panic anxiety disorder treatment, the following benefits accrue: you sleep and rest better; you will develop more stamina and have more energy; you experience improved self-concept and self-confidence and you have increased optimism about the future.
