My favourite episodes of the first season in Vampire Diaries were funnily enough the first episode, "Pilot" and last episode "Founder's Day". There were also many great episodes in between, but these two are my favourites. And I think that tells a lot about a series that the first episode is great and the last episode is great and the episodes in between are also almost as good.
