The advert also stars actors such as Zac Effron, Vanessa Hudgens , Zachary Levi, Kristin Bell and Logan Lerman. A rotating cast of these and other actors tell us It's up to us to change the odds for our generation, for the ones we love, for our future.
The whole idea behind the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) PSA "Change The Odds" advert is to tell the public the odds of contracting some form of cancer. For a mal it is a one out of two chance, for a female, it's one in three. These are extremely high chances and although cancer mortality rates are falling the battle is still very much in existence.
The poignant advert finishes with Dakota Fanning telling us If you don't like the odds, stand up. Stand up to cancer. She really is an amazing actress, as are the others who took part in the advert and showed their support for the cause. The PSA serves to promote Stand Up to Cancer's September 10th telethon, a one-hour fundraiser that will be simulcast commercial-free across major networks, including NBC, ABC and CBS, as well as cable stations including E! and VH1.
