Planning A Trip To York? Let's Take A Look At Your Accommodation Options

Whatever your budget or personal requirements on your trip to York, one of the points you have to worry about least is where you're going to stay.

As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK and being a large city, as well as the fact it is situated close to the North Yorkshire Moors, there is almost every type of accommodation option you can think of to choose from.

What's more is that due to the city's popularity, not only is there a wide range of different accommodation choices available, but they're all in abundance, meaning that you'll very rarely find it extremely difficult to find the type of accommodation you want.

And taking a look at the options themselves, you really are spoilt for choice.
Planning A Trip To York? Let's Take A Look At Your Accommodation Options

Starting with the most obvious choice, hotels, no matter if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful 1 star hotel or a more luxurious 4 or 5 star option, York has them all. Varying in price considerably, you can be certain if you're simply looking for a bed with a bathroom or a full suite with access to spa and gym facilities, you'll be able to find it in or near to the city.

Aside from hotels, one of the most popular accommodation options is to experience the great outdoors whilst you're staying in the city and spend your time on a camping and caravanning site.

As would be expected in any major city, there aren't actually any camp sites located within the city boundaries itself. However, head just a short drive (or even a relatively easy walk) out and you'll be really spoilt for choice and just like the hotels, there are sites for everyone.

For instance, if you want the basics (i.e., a pitch for the night with access to a toilet and shower block), you'll find that many pubs and farmers offer these in fields for only a couple of pounds per night.

For something a little more luxurious, however, such as gas and electric hookup, onsite kids-clubs, swimming pools and a bar or holiday club, you may have to travel a little further out (still within easy reach of the main city of York, however), but you'll find several large camp sites where you can take your own tent or caravan or hire one of the site's larger static caravans.

And this is all without taking into consideration bed and breakfast's and holiday cottages or even more unusual accommodation options, such as wooden holiday chalets that are relatively luxurious but make you feel more at one with nature than a hotel room, which are available in various camp sites within the area.

When you're planning a trip to York, what you have to remember is that it's a particularly popular city for people of all ages and interests. Due to this reason, the city - and the surrounding towns and villages - cater for almost everyone wanting to visit and therefore irrelevant of your needs or budget, you'll be able to find a suitable accommodation for you.
