7 Tips To Look For When Choosing A Home Based Business – Part 1

Picking the right home business and business model is crucial to your success. It's very important to take a look at specific factors prior to making an informed decision. Below are the first 3 tips of my 7 tips on what to look for when choosing a home based business.

1. Unique Products It must be a product that appeals to a lot of people and does not have a lot of competition. Avoid getting involved in any niche that is filled with product saturation. An example of this would be marketing vitamins and juices. Older Multi-Level-Marketing type niches are more difficult to get positined favorably, due to market saturation. This makes it harder to make enough money to live a comfortable lifesytle.

2. Type of Support Available It's important to have a solid support system that you can count on. It makes (especially in the beginning) process must easier

a)A forum where a lot of the members get together and share their success and failures and learn from others' mistakes.

b) 800 number - An 800 number for support is a sure sign of a solid system

c)Having a personal mentor or consultant is vitally importatnt to success

d) Live conference calls

These are very usefull tools and shoud definitely be offered to all new members and marketers and if you're looking at a company that has all these tools in place then those are good hints that the company is on the right track.

3. What Marketing System is Being Used It doesn't matter if you have the greatest product on earth if you can't actually get it in front of anybody. The most important thing is to get people in from of your product. No people, no sales, no income.

Things to think about: What type of marketing is the company telling you to do? If you mentor is telling you to talk to every single person within 3 feet, ask yourself "do I really want to do that"? This method of belly to belly marketing is a thing of the past. There are many better methods of marketing your business than making a list of people you know and call them one by one. With the power of the internet and the many methods to market online, doing face to face prospecting has almost become obsolete.

I prefer marketing systems that provide leverage (like leveraging the internet). A marketing system that is used to capitalize on the every day traffic of the internet.

Does the company provide you with pre-made websites, which you can customize, or follow ups that are alread pre-written, or what about a fully functioning call center that follows up with your leads? If the company that you are looking at has all the above, than you are on the right track to making a lot of money online.
