( Ytb ) Your Travel Biz - Review

YTB is based out of Wood River, Illinois and boasts over 300 employees as of 2008. Founded in 2001 by J. Lloyd " Coach " Tomer along with his son, Scott Tomer and Kim Sorenson, the company and it's subsidiaries are doing business in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, The Bahamas and Puerto Rico.

The company has a business opportunity where the offer an ' Online Travel Agency ", website to their sales agents. For a $ 450.00 start up fee and a $ 50.00 per month maintenance fee their agents can sell travel packages, use their website for their own personal travel needs and receive commissions based on others they may recruit into the business. However, as with many other companies YTB has been put to the test. It has had it's fair share of legal scandals.

For example, a California Attorney and some former employees of the company sued YTB in 2008, allegedly claiming it to be a ' Pyramid Scheme '. The Company was accused of everything from false advertising to claims to have been operating a deceitful Pyramid Scheme, where only the people on the top benefitted from their program. With one such case, the company settled. As part of the settlement, the company agreed to restructure or re-arrange the program. As with another similar case, the allegations were completely dismissed.

There are always disadvantages to any company business policies. There have also been scandals since the beginning of time. However, YTB states, they are a formidable opponent and they are here to stay.

They have advantages in that they are a continuously growing company who offers professional services. They've won awards to back their strategies for four consecutive years. YTB has dismissed the claims from former employees as " sour grapes ", saying those employees did not invest enough time in to their business.
