Hong Kong Holidays

Hong Kong is certainly world's most active and dynamic cities. Situated on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta, the Hong Kong territory is comprised of over 260 islands. It borders Guangdong province in the north and facing the South China Sea in the east, west and south.

Shopping on a Sunday at the shopping malls practically means crowds everywhere. For those who wish to bring your children to Teddy Bear Kingdom at Tsim Sha Tsui, the place is now closed and only a small exhibition of bears is available on the top floor.

Outside the terminal, on the street, there is a station from where you can take a bus to Hotel Lisboa (It's only a few minutes ride and you can take any of the following routes: 3, 3a, 10, 10a, 12, 28b, 28x, 28c and 32). From the large roundabout, in front of Hotel Lisboa, take a bus to Coloane Village (21A and 25 travel this direction).

The Tian Tan Buddha is a huge bronze statue of the Buddha. Situated on Lantau island, it is the world's tallest bronze, outdoor and seated Buddha and is a regular site for pilgrimages as well as people on holidays. Hong Kong is to a large extent Buddhist and experiencing the culture of the province isn't complete with an exploration of all of the aspects the state has to offer.

The Chin Lin Nunnery is a stunning elegant complex, with beautiful lotus ponds and rooms full of religious relics and treasures, this place must not be missed. Nian Lin garden is a magnificent park to visit, built in Tang Dynasty style, the building is stunning and the landscape is beautiful. After a day's excursions take tea in the magnificent and elegant hotel called the Peninsular, or locally known as "The Pen". This historic hotel will serve you cucumber sandwiches and afternoon tea in its beautiful surroundings.

It's almost like a beautiful untouched beach in the middle of nowhere. This unexplored, hidden beach is where all the history related to Hong Kong lies. In fact, it is said that one of the eight rock carvings was located right here in this bay, before it was discovered by the authorities. A place that is pristine and pure, is just what every tourist looks forward to when they plan a holiday.

Hotels in Hong Kong tend to be expensive, but there are online reservation agencies that offer great discounts. If you're looking for cheap hotels, you will find plenty of those especially if you browse through a good travel website.
