The Embroidered Patch Industry Needs More American Support

American embroidery businesses today are feeling the hurt of watching almost all of their production move overseas. Places like China and Taiwan can offer a high quality product at unbelievably low prices, but how do these bargain basement alternatives hurt the US economy?

The custom patch industry is a multi-million dollar industry that could grow into a billion dollar industry for this country if consumers would be willing to buy American made patches. Instead of shopping online for the lowest bidder, buyers of custom patches like the scouts, police, fire, and service industries should support a business that offers a product made with pride in the USA.

There are many internet sites that offer embroidered and woven patches at insanely low prices, but many of these companies never explain where their product is coming from. Most of these patches are manufactured in Asia.

By purchasing from an experienced American embroidery company that does its own manufacturing, American consumers can be assured that the money they spend on an order of custom patches is helping to create a job for an American worker.

There is a fine tradition of custom embroidery in America that is on the verge of disappearing if Americans aren't willing to make the extra effort to save it.

There may be a slightly higher initial cost involved in buying American made patches, but the potential benefits in creating jobs and strengthening small businesses in the US is a cost we, as Americans, should be willing to pay.
