A Look At Car Insurance With No License

Many may believe that it will be impossible for them to obtain car insurance with no license. However, this is simply not the case. There are many reasons why a person may legitimately need to obtain insurance even though they are unable to drive themselves. And most insurance companies are more than willing to work with these individuals to help them get an insurance policy, even though it may be a little more of a hassle.

Keep in mind that company guidelines will vary when it comes to no license policies. However, usually some other form of identification, such as a government issued ID card will be allowed to take the place of the license for insurance application requirements.

In most cases, those who do not have a license will not face any higher rates than those who do have licenses. One should still be able to shop around and find an affordable premium that will offer the coverage they need.

Anyone who owns a car will need insurance in most states. This is the requirement of the law. In all but a few states, a vehicle cannot even be legally registered without proof of insurance. Some may own a car even though they do not drive it.

Take the old grandma who has a car. She may not have a license, but her son will drive her around wherever she needs to go. That car will still need to be protected with insurance. Others may be hindered from driving because of health reasons, but this should not keep them from owning a car that they love. Still, to own that car legally, they will have to obtain proper coverage.

There are also those who are in the process of getting their license. Perhaps they wish to activate their coverage as quickly as possible so that they can begin driving as soon as they have passed the test. This is possible, too.

Most insurers will expect a clear explanation as to why you need insurance when you cannot drive, but do not be offended by this. The only reason you are likely to be turned away is if you are under suspension or revocation. Then you will likely have a short time period to get your license back before a policy will expire. It is always a good idea to never allow an insurance policy to expire, because this looks really bad on ones record and could hinder one from obtaining insurance in the future.

However, few individuals will face situations like this. Most will have a legitimate reason for needing coverage and will have no problem obtaining the coverage they need.
