However, if the boss identified that the staff is sleeping at his office, he isn't going to be very delighted. But you can't help it! The moment you fix your eyes on the screen, you start yawning. Well, avoiding that isn't so difficult.

If your eyes are seepy, the key is to include another sense into action, for example, try to think about the sense of smell. A strong smell, either pleasant or bad can keep you energetic. This is because this way your attention is deflected from the sleepiness, and moves towards the scent. Rosemary, Eucalyptus blue gum, peppermint, coffee beans and Scots pine oil are some of the great fragrances many aroma-therapists advise. All you have to do is take a sniff from the bottle whenever you feel sleepy, and you will be able to keep awake for some time. Taking a power nap is also a good option. However, ensure that the nap does not last longer than 15-20 minutes. Otherwise, it might no longer serve the intention of a power nap rather, you will start feeling more drowsy. Move to a couch and take a little nap and get back to work soon after that.

Keeping the region near your work desk properly illuminated might also serve the purpose. It is advisable if you use natural light though, but artificial lights might also offer the intention. The brighter the region, the tougher it would be to keep your eyes closed. Ultimately, you will stop feeling sleepy. Another option is to keep yourself little at ease instead choose a chair that is not too cozy for you to lie on and sleep. Many times you must walk around or keep standing. When you are sitting, make sure you are sitting upright and avoid providing rest to your head either through hands, desk or wall.

If you have a full tummy, you tend to sleep more. If you are avoiding sleep, do not keep your stomach full throughout the day. The solution is to take small meals all day and refrain from bigger meals. Healthy snacks are the right choice for this. With that, you can enhance your caffeine intake to keep awake. However, do not overdose the usage of coffee. Just take it in the form of little doses.

Music is also a great method of atying awake when you do not wish to. Choose irritating music or something you are not very fond of.
