It is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, it is claimed to be the largest. This claim is based on a width of 1,708 metres (5,600 ft) and height of 108 meters (360 ft), forming the largest sheet of falling water in the world.
The rainforest around the Victoria Fall is another important visiting place in these national parks. These forests grows in the spray of the falls and include trees species fern, palms, liana vines and a number of trees such as mahogany not seen elsewhere in the region. The fish species above and below the Victoria Fall varies amazingly in numbers. There are 39 species of fish below the falls and 89 species above it, mostly black cod and slippery trout. You cant find this sort of dividing barrier of different fish species any where in the world.
Season of rainfall is very helpful for the Zimbabwean forests and agriculture but it prove very harmful for the wildlife. During rainy days some birds migrate from Zimbabwe to some dry land. Tremendous rainfall also increases the flow of Victoria fall.
