Do You Want Your Child To Defend Himself

As much as you'd like to be, you simply can't be with your child 24/7, so it is a great idea for your child to know how to defend himself in case the need should ever arise.

Children are naturally trusting, which makes them an easy target. If you don't want your child to be a victim of abuse, an abduction, and everything else parent's don't want their kids to go through or experience, self defense will give them the opportunity to fight their attacker then run away and call for help.

Knowing self defense can also prove to be a great way for your child to not be bullied at school, in the playground, as well as other places where mean kids hang out. If your child knows how to defend himself, he will not be afraid to fight back when needed, especially if he is being attacked our bullied. More often than not, because the bully knows your child's going to fight back, he's not going to bother your kid at all. This can help your child build self confidence.

It is a good idea to get kids between the ages of 6 onwards in a self defense or martial arts class. Not only will they know how to defend themselves, but as well as when to use their skills. Martial arts teach kids how to size up the situation they find themselves in, and identify their attacker's weaknesses and use it to their advantage. They also learn how to identify their weaknesses and constantly improve on it. No parent would want their child to be a victim of any form of abuse, and letting your child learn self defense gives them a fighting chance of escaping an attacker and calling for help, especially when you're not around.
