Some of the great Greek beaches are here and it is home to the famous Myrtos beach. Many postcards from the other islands have this beach as their main feature even though it is not from there.
Kefalonia holidays aren't only about beaches; you have a lot of culture too. That shouldn't come as a surprise to you given Greece's history. There are ruins dated back to the 1st century B.C. and ancient burial sites. If you want to learn about culture then this is a great place to do it.
People who love nature will love Kefalonia. You might get to see an endangered loggerhead turtle if you are fortunate. It is an amazing sight to see one of these on the beach. The island also has lot of caves that you can visit and many mountains to climb.
The accommodation is as you would expect for Greece. Most are basic apartments but are very clean. What makes a lot of these places great is that they are run by families so they are very eager to please you.
