New Sherlock Holmes Film May Lure Tourists To The Uk

Tourism officials are hoping the new Sherlock Holmes film will inspire both domestic and overseas visitors to discoveror rediscover, whichever the case may bethe various attractions Britain has to offer.

The new film, set to open in UK cinemas on Boxing Day, stars Robert Downey Jr. as the famous detective and Jude Law as his sidekick Watson. Filmed in various locations around London, Manchester, and Liverpool, the film features a variety of famous landmarks as its backdrop including St. Pauls Cathedral, The Freemasons Hall, and Brompton Cemetery in London, The Liverpool Docks in Merseyside, Liverpool, and the Manchester Town Hall in Albert Square, Manchester. In addition to Englands attractions featured in the film, Britain features a variety of sites important to the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, from his birthplace in Edinburgh, to his studies at Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. Furthermore, the fictional home of Doyles Sherlock Holmes and John Watson is now the real-life home of the Sherlock Holmes Museum.
