Junior lofts are designed for small kids with the top bunk fixed at a relatively lower height to ensure additional safety of the kids. Playing slides are also available in junior lofts.

As for varieties in futon bunk beds, the lower portion is available as a couch and the upper as a single mattress bed. The couch can be turned into a twin bed at night by unfolding the couch.
