Activities For Your Brisbane Vacation

There is a large number of modern thinking people in the city of Brisbane. It is the capital of Queensland and there are about 2 million people there. There is a ton of things to do and see in the city. You can eat at one of the many restaurants and shop as well. There are many different things there that will surely catch your interest.

To see creatures that can only be found here you will want to go to the Alma Park Zoo. It is a beautiful modern facility that houses an incredible collection. They have some exotic and amazing creatures there such as lemurs, sun bears, and others. There is a new attraction that will allow you to get very close to the very rare red panda. You will only have to ride for 30 minutes to get there too.

There is art, a lot of it, in Brisbane too. Whether you prefer the visual arts such as some of the heralded indigenous art or something more contemporary, it is there. You can see shows as well. They have independent films from all over at the Cinematheque program. The gallery of modern art is not something that you want to miss if art is your thing.

At the Queensland Museum, visitors can learn more about everything from snakes and spiders to shipwrecks. This state of the art facility is the self-styled custodian of Queensland's natural heritage and features such interesting exhibitions as Dinosaurs of Ancient Queensland, the Wreck of the Pandora (the ship that brought the infamous HMS Bounty to justice) and Mephisto, the only surviving German World War I Sturmpanzerwagen tank. After a relaxing day wandering through galleries and museum halls, why not take in a performance at the Queensland Performing Arts Center. Even if you are not usually a theater person, this center will have a performance that you will want to see and the acts on offer range from mega-musicals to virtuoso recitals and from wacky one-man shows to dance and cirque extravaganzas.

Brisbane really has a lot to offer as a city and a destination. You will want to spend some time there and not rush the visit so that you have a chance to see everything.
