Tim Mcgraw Tickets - The Decade's Best And Country's Favorite Man

He was poised to take over the country music reins from Garth Brooks just a few years ago and has since done well enough to be named the leading artist of the past decade. Tim McGraw, who doesn't just tackle country music charts anymore, as he appears in silver screen films and commercial charity events, has recently been named the top played airplay artist, of any genre, of the past decade.

The Nielsen BDS number tallied airplay numbers from radio, TV and the internet and named Faith Hill's husband as the genre topping star. With more than 7,965,000 spins from Jan. 1, 2000 to Dec. 31, 2009, McGraw shoved Brooks right off the podium with this win. Yet the feat shouldn't come as a surprise to music fans who have followed McGraw from his "Indian Outlaw" days, as Tim McGraw tickets continue to be available on StubHub.

Along with bragging rights, McGraw was given a commemorative plaque for his astounding numbers. Company president Eric Weinberg said, "[McGraw's] career and songs have resonated not only with his fans, but has become part of the fabric of America, evidenced by his unprecedented airplay." McGraw has seen an abundance of crossover success with singles like "I Need You," "I Like it, I Love It" and others and he's also seen success through his work in Hollywood. Pursing an acting career beginning in 1995, McGraw made a name for himself on The Jeff Foxworthy Show. He picked up larger roles with the lead in 2006's "Flicka" and a supporting role in Sandra Bullock's Oscar-winning role "The Blind Side."

As one of country music's chief faces, it is no surprise that McGraw was chosen to host the "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock." The ABC awards show, which is set to air Sept. 1, will feature McGraw as host and country performances from Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban and more. The event has been hailed as the "Grand Re-opening of Nashville" following the devastating floods in May.

McGraw, who has a home in the area, was one of many stars to actively participate in raising funds for flood relief for the city. Alongside his wife, his Nashville Rising Benefit concert raised more than $2.2 million for flood victims in Tennessee, reports the Associated Press, with performances by McGraw, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and others.

Currently McGraw is on a stadium tour in support of Southern Voice, the 2009 album that features the top selling singles "Business Doing Pleasure with You," "If I Died Today" and "Southern Voice." The album is a country rock set and follow up to 2007's Let It Go. Claiming the set is his more mature yet, it was an unintentional move by McGraw when he began picking songs for his 10th studio album. "I didn't go looking for that kind of material," he said on his website. "You might not notice any theme as you're making an album, but once it's done then you look back and get a better picture of where you were as a person at the time."
