Big Plush Bear Toys

It should come as no surprise to anyone, that after the invention of the teddy bear in 1902, it would become so popular, that eventually different bear species would be used to create other plush bears. The polar bear, the American black bear, and the panda bear, were some of the earliest bears used as models for stuffed bears. It was only a matter of time, before different sizes of stuffed bears were manufactured - big plush bears happen to be one of them.

Big plush bears are popular for a number of reasons: their soft and plush bodies make them ideal cuddly companions; they are more than just a plush toy they are a lifelong friend and confidante; they have semi-human attributes which makes them especially ideal for the young; they act as one very large security blanket. Big plush bears are also extremely adaptable as they can be made to sit, stand, crawl, and even climb, thus giving their owner whatever personality they decide they should have. Big plush bears also have physical qualities which contribute to their success; within reason, big plush bears can withstand rough and tumble treatment. Plus children immediately gravitate toward them for the love and security they provide.

Buying just the right toy for any child in today's vast marketplace, is a daunting and often confusing task at best. With so much to choose from, where does one even begin? There is no doubt, or question, that purchasing big plush bears is never a bad decision. They are the go-to toy, above anything else. Unlike other toys that a child will cast aside about as quickly as the toy company can manufacture it, big plush bears are suitable for both boys and girls, and for any occasion, even when an occasion doesn't exist.

Bears have been featured in legends and folklore around the world and have played a very important role in some cultures. Our fascination with them goes back centuries, probably due in part to the fact that the animals are powerful and can walk upright (like humans, bears have plantigrade feet, so that when they walk both heel and toes make contact with the ground).

It's always fascinating to learn about where things began, and bears are no exception. Any child that has big plush bears as part of their plush toy menagerie will likely find it quite appealing that bears walked upright the way we do. But, all that aside, big plush bears are really just a toy a child falls in love with no matter its ancestry or history. While some of these bears will be forgotten, still others will live forever in their hearts.
