How to Rebuild Entourage Database

Microsoft Entourage, a widely used email client from Microsoft Corporation for Mac OS X operating system, manages all your data in a single database. When you create an account, an Identity is created. Identity comprises of all the emails, tasks, notes, contacts, journal, appointments, and attachments.

Entourage has separate Identity for every user. You can switch between Identities, whenever required. Under some critical circumstances, MS Entourage data may get damaged. Such situations include virus infection, improper system shutdown, application malfunction, database header corruption, and Identity corruption.

You can fix corruption errors by rebuilding the database using Database Utility. It is an inbuilt maintenance tool of Entourage email client. In order to rebuild Entourage database, go through the below steps:

Launch Macintosh Entourage while holding the Optionkey. It opens Database Utility.

Main screen of the utility shows four options- Verify, Compact, Rebuild, and Set preferences.

Select Rebuild database option and click Continuebutton.

It completes the rebuild process.

Try opening the account to check whether data is repaired or not.

In case it can not be opened after rebuilding, you need to restore data from backup. The application enables you to archive Entourage database by exporting it to RGE file. You can restore data by importing REG file to Entourage account.

When all else fail, repair Entourage database using third-party applications, known as Entourage repair software. Such commercial applications are capable of handling all corruption issues.
