Panic disorder treatments for children

The pressure from family, relatives and the tensions among the relations are the major cause for anxiety and panic attacks in children. Like adults, panic disorder treatments are available for children too. However, as the ability to cope with the panic disorder differs with every child, the panic disorder treatments also differ. The panic disorder treatments can easily be applied with a little help from the family doctor to prevent your child from going crazy because of it.

Children experience discomfort and fear that is sometimes real and sometimes a part of their imagination. The problem enhances and intensifies due to the fact that children find it really hard to open up to their parents or even their best friends. The fear of not being heard and being made fun of stops them from saying it all out. Children's innocent and sensitive mind is easily influenced by different family issues like divorce between parents and their fights. It's easy to guess when your child is suffering from the disorder by carefully observing him. Crying uncontrollably, sweating, shaking, shortage of breath, getting startled, losing appetite, and lack of concentration, headaches and insomnia might be troubling your kid due to panic attacks.

It's completely curable. First you need to visit your doctor and understand the cause of the attack. Cognitive Behavioral Treatment is used to understand the causes. Then they are taught to control the attack whenever they feel that the attack is coming. Family therapy is a treatment in which the whole family is involved and it is most effective because children become more and more confident with family support. Antidepressants are given to reduce stress and depression and tranquilizers are given to overcome the insomnia problem. As done with the adults, the child is made to face his fears. Facing fears gives you strength to overcome them and it reduces the panic attacks to a big deal.

A doctor's help is important because if you are going to force your kid to tell you about his problem, you won't be helping him, instead you would be adding up to his fears.
