According to the latest survey of the market research, as the prices of panel continue to fall and the expected weak demand, panel makers continue to lower the production strategy in the second half of 2011 and control panel production.

The report estimates that in the third quarter of 2011, the world's total production area of panel's production line will be 12.2 million square meters / month, although still increase by 5% year on year, but decreased by 14% compared with the 14.2 million square meters / month in the second quarter. As the market outlook remains unclear, in the fourth quarter of this year it probably only maintain the production level of 12 million square meters / month.

"The panel makers originally plan to increase capacity utilization in the third quarter to 85% -90%, but now it only reached 75%." The analyst said in the third quarter of this year, the market performance is clearly different from the past. But this year the situation is that the project planning production area is very close to shipments. This displays that the panel makers' judge for the television market is rather conservative.

The statistics show that, compared with the previous quarter, the global 5-8 generation line all showed double-digit decline in the range of 12-28%. And only the tenth generation line had risen. This is mainly because affected by the earthquake in Japan in the second quarter, the capacity utilization was lower. In terms of the specific use, the production area of TV panel in the third quarter is about 7.5 million square meters / month, a decline of 13 percent.

Europe's finance is not sound. Along with the Japan earthquake and the outbreak of the fall of the U.S. credit rating, the uncertainty of the flat-panel TV market in the future expanded. Facing such challenges, panel makers are grabbing the market share through product differentiation. Samsung Electronics launched 43-inch and 48-inch LCD panels in the Chinese market in particular, which are both larger than other brands of products by 1 inch.

Konka, Changhong, Hisense, Haier and other Chinese companies have been using Samsung's 43-inch and 48-inch panels. They intend to promote them to the market during the National Day in October.

The adverse market environment is a severe test for the fledgling domestic panel enterprises. Though the demand for flat panel display industry is difficult to predict, but it is expected to achieve an annual growth of 7-9%. By 2015, the interactive display, transparent display and naked-eye 3D television will be developed.
