Can Your Pilates Mind Give You Weight Loss Inspiration

Not really like the high of a runner, the Pilates mind is more a peaceable, refreshed state of awareness. Do all who perform the exercises experience Pilates mind? Possibly not.

Just as a few individuals can run five miles without experiencing that sense of exhilaration that may come from extended aerobic exercises and some people never actually get into the meditative facets of yoga, not everybody will be able to feel the tranquility and sense of contentment that Pilates can offer you. Perhaps this suggests that Pilates just is not the best workout for them. Or perhaps it just implies they are not approaching the exercises in the best way.

Pilates is a perfect exercise that may benefit everybody who tries to use it to lose weight fast and safe. To entirely experience Pilates with your body and spirit in synchronization, it is important to approach the Reformer machine (or your resistance bands, or the movements if you are using no props), with a certain perspective. Instead of the way a muscle builder might face that weight machine and start pulling and lifting, grunting and moaning his way thru a set, with Pilates you allow a feeling of quietness come over you.

Pilates is perhaps the lightest and least arduous workout you can do, with few repetitions necessary to get the advantages, so you are not facing a painful session. Try to develop a Pilates mind by taking deep, cleansing breaths before you start and by breathing continuously and uniformly through your workout session. Very like yoga, the exercises you do will be better if you breathe correctly. As you do each movement, focus on doing it slowly and uniformly. Feel your muscles relax and contract as you work your way thru the Pilates movements. As well as being low impact, appreciation of what you are doing is a chief difference between Pilates and yoga, and many other exercises.

Instead of aerobics or other kinds of high impact exercise programs where fast movement is the key to using up fat and calories and coaching your muscles, with Pilates you want to concentrate on each slow and controlled movement. If your movements are fast and haphazard, you are doing them incorrectly. And if you do them incorrectly, you will not get the full benefit.

Develop a Pilates mind by imagining you can feel your muscles increasing and contracting. With each movement, you can feel yourself growing stronger as your muscles tighten and get more efficient. The more that you focus on precisely how you move and with what strength, the more you will develop a disposition of awareness. If you do that, your Pilates work outs will do lots more than tighten your body and reinforce your trunk muscles. Shortly you will find yourself anticipating Pilates as you will feel stronger after each session, and not just physically.

Learn how to use your Pilates mind and you will discover weight loss inspiration in no time.
