In the United States you should get a certification that is recognized by the NCCA.

With a boom in the fitness industry there are any numbers of clubs, fitness centers that hire fitness trainers. But if you want an edge over other fitness trainers, you should specialize. Acquiring a specialist certification means, that you will have an edge over others and you will be able charge more for your services. An example would be if you are trained to work with people who have sustained an injury.

Try to get employed as a personal trainer in a club around the area in which you live. In case there are no clubs, you could try and setup your own fitness club. But before you decide to embark on this venture, it would advisable to talk to people in your area. If they support you and are eager to get fitness training then you can consider starting out on your own.
