Another way is to create an affiliate program so that affiliates can promote for you. To ensure that your affiliates can promote your product easily, give them the tools to get started. This way, you can be assured, that they will lead prospects to the correct website and not somewhere else.

Another very important point is to have an optin mechanism on your website. This is crucial. Preferably, let them opt into your mailing list first before they even see your product.
