Surfboards - Learn How To Assemble Skateboarding Trucks, Tighten And Or Loosen Skateboard Trucks?

Skateboard shop : In general, remember if you just bought a new board to put the grip tape on first because its a lot easier. Then either replacing your trucks back on your deck or putting a new pair on right. There are many favorite ways of putting trucks on a skateboard. At first put four bolts into the top of the deck. Than with one hand hold it flat in place over four bolts so they do not slide back out. With your free hand wiggle the truck onto the four bolts, making sure all of them came through.

The right direction is having the kingpin side of the truck towards the middle of the deck. Than grab one nut at a time and just hand tighten them at first. Than you can let go of your hands and place your board on its side. Either with an electric drill or just a screw driver, and a skate tool or a wrench. Then Tighten them even-ling so the top of the bolt is flush to the grip tape .

Something that is very important is to put the trucks on facing the right direction. If you are taking trucks off the board, the only bolts you have to loosen up are the 8 hardware. They are the ones you can see well looking at your grip tape. Then Buy a skate tool immediately, because they are the easiest to use well working on your board, and you will need to work on it often.

Some are softer and others are harder. The softer ones makes it easier to turn well the harder ones makes it harder to turn. Another important part the plays a roll into how your board turns is your bushings. Then you can buy them with different firmness. They are designed so that its the only tool you need to do everything on a skateboard.

Then the Tighter trucks are good for doing tricks and skating ramps, because you have more control, and its easier to land the tricks. The Looser trucks are good if you do not do a lot of skate tricks, they are good for quick carving, but you will not have as much board control. It will take a while to get used to any board set up, and an even longer time to learn how tight you like your trucks.

Sometimes you want them adjusted solely based on the type of tricks you are trying to learn. Thus a A good truck will have the kingpin set a tough lower than the axle so you do not get caught up on rails.
