subject: Egypt Expected To See An Influx Of British Tourists Taking Scuba Diving Holidays This Winter [print this page]

The travel company, ULookUBook.com, says that Egypt is likely to see a rise in tourists from the United Kingdom this winter as more travellers are expected to escape to the country for sun, sea, sand and scuba diving.

The company is expecting a surge in travellers booking scuba diving holidays to popular coastal Egypt resorts such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada over the winter months.

Ian Raine from ULookUBook.com, said: "We saw Egypt holidays increase in popularity throughout the summer and expect the destination to pull in a large number of tourists during the winter months. This belief is obviously shared by the Egyptian Minister for Tourism, who expects to see tourism income increase in the next few months.

"Egypt is a great destination and any Egypt holiday can include a jaunt to the Pyramids or a scuba diving lesson. The weather during the winter is always very warm, so Brits will not only be treated to a range of activities but brilliant weather and stunning scenery as well. We are very excited to send more and more people to this great destination."

Egypt offers a collection of fantastic locations for amazing scuba diving holidays, and resorts like Sharm el Sheikh are becoming increasingly popular because of its excellent diving sites and warm ocean waters that are thriving with marine life.

Situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, along the coast of the red Sea, Sharm el Sheikh is one of the top scuba diving destinations in the in the world.

Divers scuba diving in Sharm el Sheikh can explore the beautiful Ras Mohammad national park and its underwater caves that were formed as a result of earthquakes. The park is located about 12km off the coast of Sharm el Sheikh and is home to over 200 species of corals, 1000 species of fish, black tip sharks, stingrays, sea turtles and dolphins.

Shipwrecks such as Dunraven and S.S Thistlegorm lie beneath the surface of the Red Sea's sandy bottom floor and are a fantastic place to experience the magnificent marine environment of Egypt.

Hurghada is another great scuba diving spot and the resort stretches 36km along the Red Sea coast providing access to several uninhabited offshore reefs and islands. The waters are crystal clear, warm and calm and they provide perfect conditions for scuba diving and snorkelling activities.
