Corporal punishment is used very rampantly today and most of the children are victims of it. When you think of corporal punishments your mind must be going to extremes like whipping, hangings and other ancient tortures of the olden days. Corporal punishment is hurting because it produces long term effects which are not always good. A corporal punishment when used on children brings tears into the eyes of most adults because it is taken as harassment and abuse in the adult world. If an adult getting spanked is considered to be a harassment then why is it taken in a positive way if a child to be spanked? A corporal punishment is termed as a physical force, no matter how light, with the intention of causing the child to experience bodily pain so as to correct the childs behavior This would involve acts such as spanking, slapping a hand, face, or other body part.

Corporal punishments are usually divided into three groups - anti-corporal, pro-corporal and conditional corporal punishment. Anti-corporal are those against using corporal punishment. Pro-corporal are those for using corporal punishment. Finally, conditional corporal punishment is for people who believe corporal punishment should only be used on children as a last resort. The vast majority of America today uses conditional corporal punishment when it comes to correcting the behavior of children. A teacher should educate not punish.
