Ways To Get Kids Involved In Eco-friendly Activities

It isa good idea to get your kids involved in environmentally friendly projects that show them they can make a big influence on reducing waste and keeping plastic bags out of landfills. Some great environmentally friendly merchandise are around to make teaching them about being responsible for their own planet both fun and easy. They can even become eco advertising experts themselves by decorating tote bags that they use instead of plastic, making fun sayings with markers, or glitter, that say, GO GREEN! or I'm Green, Are You?; or other fun sayings in their very own own hand with their very own own fun designs. It's a great kraft to do with your kids since the options are endless. Perhaps adding colorful trees flowers as a reminder of the impact they are making by carrying a reusable canvas duffel instead of using plastic bags - countless which end up in landfills pollute the oceans every year. The dead zones in our oceans seem to be ever-increasing, but you can teach your children to make a difference, and to achieve it artistically.

You can also encourage your kids to use friendly to the environment products like steel bottles, in lieu of throwing away plastic bottles that come from purchasing drinking water, you can simply have them decorate their own own reuseable bottle which they can then rinse out and use again again. This keeps plastic bottles out of landfills, also getting your children actively involved in teaching others how to go green by being an example themselves.

Once you have created your own little green ambassadors, they can teach other consumers how ot use ecofriendly items and recyle, reuse, responsibly live on the earth. You could even show them how to start their very own own composting pile in the back yard with kitchen scraps, showing them how food breaks down and how it can then be added back to the soil as fertilizer, rather than contributing to the waste that the city has to pick up dump, wasting gasoline in big trucks that haul it. You can show them how to plant their very own own food, using organic soil, and even how to make art with found objects. You can teach them to recycle newspapers and office trash, mail, old magazines even soda cans. You can turn your kids into earth friendly enthusiasts.

Try starting with simple, fun activities that feel more like art projects than anything environment related. Kids love decorating a cotton tote duffel to use for taking their own lunch to school every day, rather than a paper bag that is used once and thrown away. Then have them start bringing their own water bottle to refilll - it might even get them to give up soda, & have better dental check-ups! From there, you can graduate to more extensive porjects until eventually you have created a generation of responsible, green-loving kids that are stewards of our planet and its resources. That's something you can actually feel proud of. Creating environmentally friendly kids starts with fun earth friendly projects , from there, you might just be planting the seeds to grow the next David Suzuki.
