Girls Residential School-the Right Place For Your Child To Grow

Many of us have some misconception s on girls boarding schools due to the projections made by media portrayed in TV series and movies. Many of us an image of these schools as an unfriendly, discouraging and depressing place. The truth is completely different from this image, all girls boarding schools have been here since ages and will stay because it is a good place for your child to grow with good education and experiences. The best way to break these misconceptions is to know these schools well. Like other schools these schools have high standards in terms of education and discipline. Here are few reasons why you should prefer all girls boarding schools:

Gender bias

Most of us may not accept this, but we are still a gender bias society. The amount of time and attention that teachers and parent give to boys is much lesser compared to girls. A research showed that teachers themselves were shocked to see themselves teaching on video. They hadnt realized how much time they spent teaching boys, or how little time they actually spent teaching girls. Boys get not only more attention and time but also other facilities for sports, and extracurricular activities.

Positive peer pressure

Many parents find that boarding schools give their daughters a more positive set of peers, so that peer pressure work for girls, instead of against them. Instead of feeling pressure to experiment with sex and drugs, girls feel challenged to be the best they can be.

Better education and environment

Girls get easily distracted by anti social element in the society such as drugs and sex. Girls boarding schools are subjected to stringent rules and regulations and there is no question of attraction towards boys, hence they could focus more easily and do well in their academics.

Leadership qualities and confidence

Researchers have found that girls in all-girls schools not only increase their grade point averages, self-esteem, and their hopes for the future. They also find increased confidence in their ability to think and to handle conflict. They come to think of themselves as the leaders who will make a difference. For instance, one girl was used to hearing boys yell, Cat fight! whenever girls disagreed with each other in class. When she transferred to an all-girls school, she found that girls were encouraged to debate, to speak their minds, and think through their opinions. No longer shut down by the boys teasing (which went on right in front of teachers) she developed her thinking and communication skills.

Normally girls are quite reluctant to take part in any adventure, however in a safe surrounding full of girls they are encouraged to take risks and take a stand for what they feel is right. Such an environment helps girls to make the most of every opportunity they have by stepping up to prove their leadership qualities.

If we check records, it is clearly visible that boarding school for girls have well competed with other schools in terms of performance in academics, sports and extracurricular activities.
